Judge Nelson Suspends In-Person Quorum Court Proceedings

On March 11, 2020, Governor Hutchinson declared a "State of Emergency" for Arkansas related to the COVID-19 pandemic, which remains in effect.

In response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the identified increase of COVID-19 positive tests and hospitalizations in Arkansas and Mississippi County, the November Quorum Court will not meet as scheduled for November 24, 2020.

The November Quorum Court will be rescheduled and take place through appropriate and safe means, preferably virtual, videoconference, or telephonic.

The dramatic upward trend in cases in Arkansas and Mississippi County requires us to do our part to help protect the state and our county.

Therefore, for the protection of the public from the risks associated with and the potential spread of COVID-19 Mississippi County will not conduct in-person Quorum Court proceedings through December 31, 2020.

- Mississippi County Judge John Alan Nelson
